Trust in the investment management industry has be the subject of considerable comment. Peter Jeffreys asks "What will it take to restore trust in the investment process?"

Risk is now centre stage in the eyes of the industry, and more importantly, in the eyes of the regulators. For retail investors, UCITS III may be the catalyst in restoring trust by making risk monitoring a pre-requisite for any funds seeking cross-border distribution. For institutional investors there are also signs that managers are moving towards greater transparency and adoption of better best practice in risk management.
